Nashville

This past week, Drew and I both took off a week from work. It was one of my better ideas :) We have both been working really hard and keeping up with life in general and we just needed a week to re-group, rest, and spend some quality time together, or in Drew's words, "QT". The first part of the week we just hung around the house, not doing much of anything. Towards the end of the week, we decided to take a trip to Nashville. We made it a point not to have many plans made, but Drew was in charge of making the hotel reservations and he did a fantastic job. We stayed at Union Station Hotel, a historical hotel in downtown Nashville, and it was beautiful! Here are some pictures of the hotel.

Our hotel was walking distance to downtown which was great because we didn't have to waste time trying to find a parking spot. Here are a few pictures from downtown.

Behind Drew is the main strip where all the country bars are located. What is really cool is each bar is different, different band, different crowd, different atmosphere. Drew and I really enjoyed the Stage behind Drew to the left. This was one of the bigger bars and from what we could tell, it is where the more known bands go to perform. They had pictures from Willie Nelson, Hank Williams Jr., Taylor Swift, Derks Bently, and Blake Shelton when they were just starting out.

We were walking to dinner one night and spotted the CMT building.

Of course Drew had to check out some boots!

One afternoon, Drew and I decided to check out the Country Music Hall of Fame.

This was the dress Carrie Underwood wore during a performance. I can't remember exactly which awards show she wore the dress to, but it was pretty neat.

Of course Drew had to take a picture of Hank Williams Jr.'s Monday Night Football jacket and guitar!

These boots were worn by Hank Williams Jr.'s son, Hank Williams III from the age of 15 to 2008. You can see the duck tape holding them together.

We thought this was pretty neat, Conway Twitty was born in Mississippi, but graduated High School from Central High in Helena, which is where Drew's mom and dad graduated! Also, his stage name came from Conway, AR and Twitty, TX...just an interesting fact!

After the Hall of Fame, we went to see the worlds only replica of the Parthenon in Athens Greece. It is kind of random that Nashville decided to build the replica, but it was definitely really cool to see. Here are some pictures.

Look close...do you see me? I told you the Parthenon was HUGE!!!

So our last night there, we got dressed up (in our boots!) and hit the town.

Also check out one of the performers we watched.
